5BBC Crash Seminar

As you may already know, Hubb was in a crash early January. It’s been rocky dealing with the healing, the MRI’s, the horrible Disability Claims office, and lawyers..it is not without its stressors. Luckily enough, I still have a husband and The Kid still has a father, and he is getting better and better everyday with much positivity from our loved ones. I cannot express my thanks to all for your kind words, prayers, legal help, and general positive energy! With that said, when I received a Facebook invite to this seminar 5BBC was hosting in Soho, I RSVP’d posthaste.

REI was kind enough to lend their cellar meeting room to those who came out and City Bakery supplied some yummy goodies! REI is a fantastic outdoor/recreation store who just moved over to the East Coast, and Downtown loves it to bits. Its easy to get lost in all the gear clothing and of course bikes! Starting around 6:30 pm, we learned so much from the presenting lawyers, who are fellow cyclists and have been in crashes. I took some pictures of their Power Point presentation;

I was SO surprised to learn Cell phone usage does not apply to cyclists. I only take out my phone for directions, but even then I pull over, I do not condone phone usage on the streets! I was also shocked that there is no law for us cyclists to be in a single file, not even two abreast(next to each other), we can travel in packs if we want! SO RAD.

After the seminar, Hubb and I explore REI:

Whilst browsing and chatting, we meet some of NYC’s Track bike peeps from Instagram!

Don’t mind the face, I get happy when peeps recognize me! Great meeting @getafteritnow and @ishkibbible (go follow them, bikey peeps!)

I also had time for a few shots of that nights outfit;

Today would have been my dear old Dad’s 51st Birthday, and what seems like half my life without him here, it was by far the easiest one in 7 years. The Hubb brought home some of his favorite roses, and a cupcake to light as a little memorial;

Purple being his favorite color(he always did want a Purple electric Bass..), and seeing how I snagged a new purple sweater, handbag and a purple eye shadow(in the most AMAZING belated bday package ever!) I wore all the purple I had for todays bike ride

After scoring some presidents day sale priced crap, we head home. Nothing special, nothing big..but its what dad liked to do.

A very, merry UN-Vday

IMG_1713

The Hubb and I don’t really believe in the Hallmark hype that Valentines Day has become, you don’t need one day to shower your loved ones with flowers and chocolate. For those lucky enough to have a man who does romantic things all year long, V-day can be…off-putting. What do you do on the day, when everyone else is out to dinner? Get dressed up in pretty things, head to Greenwich Village, and get a new piercing…..OF COURSE!

IMG_1627

There was two OOTD’s actually..since we went out the eve of, and the day of V-day

IMG_1672

IMG_1636

V-day eve, Hubb and I enjoy a burrito from Chipotle..now this is my idea of a dinner-date.!

IMG_1644

I love how unconventional we are <3

The very next day, we head back downtown and the first stop is Unimax Supply…if your big on the tattoo/piercing/body modification scene; YOU KNOW THIS PLACE!

IMG_1692IMG_1694IMG_1695IMG_1697IMG_1696IMG_1698IMG_1699IMG_1701IMG_1702IMG_1703IMG_1704IMG_1705

IMG_1707

total candid shot..jesus my legs look THAT strong?

Since we were already in the neighborhood, we drop in our old shop and I decide it’s time for a piercing!

IMG_1720IMG_1722

I’ve been in this chair countless times..but Tino never minds!

IMG_1723

Totally happy with my bling, Hubb and I decide it was warm enough for a Texas-sized frozen drink :)

IMG_1727IMG_1728IMG_1729IMG_1730

took this time to get a shot of the bling and play with Instagram..why the Eff haven’t I had this in my life till now?!

We walk around the LES(buzzed as hell) and just took in our most favorite of neighborhoods;

IMG_1749 - CopyIMG_1751 - CopyIMG_1755 - CopyIMG_1757

I may not agree with it, but I love the colors of V-day<3

IMG_1763

TIGER TRUCK!! ROAR!

IMG_1767

I love New York City…born and raised, so I’m biased, but this really is the greatest city on Earth. People from all walks of life, all kinds of styles, bustling and scurrying trying to keep their busybusy schedules…its great to watch, when your not the one in a hurry :p

I hope you all who celebrates had a love-filled V-day, and here’s to hoping no one has any new cavities!
